10 Principles I’ve Observed in the Church and How to Apply Them to Your Business for Growth

Updated: Oct 15

1. Develop a Process to Grow Newcomers into Leaders – What Are the ABCs?

   - Attracting talent to your business can be challenging, especially when teams aren’t self-sufficient.

   - By developing talent, they become engaged in your vision and culture, fostering a greater sense of responsibility.

   - Leadership goes beyond position; it’s about character and attitude.

2. Collaborate with Local Partners to Increase Impact:

   - Diversity builds connections with potential clients because you gain clear insights into existing challenges. Local partners understand the language, behaviors, desires, and problems.

   - Working together allows you to make targeted contributions and create meaningful impact.

3. Give Something Away for Free to Introduce People to You and Your Vision:

   - What you sow, you will reap. People are more likely to open their wallets than share their network.

   - As a business, you gain more from someone’s network, as trust lowers the barrier to purchase, and potential hires often come through referrals.

   - Offer something free to let people experience what you offer!

4. Pick Up the Phone and Start Calling – Seek Connection:

   - People often hide behind DMs or screens, but human contact always works best.

   - People love talking about themselves, and when they feel seen, heard, and understood, you can deepen the relationship.

5. Meeting in Person is More Powerful Than Working Remotely:

   - You don’t need to buy a new ping-pong table or serve luxurious coffee.

   - Coming together in the office shapes character, skills, and mindset.

   - People crave connection, but not under stifling hierarchies.

6. Create Smaller Teams Within Your Organization to Foster Personal Contact:

   - It’s not about how big your team is, but how connected you are to it. This allows you to know what’s happening, provide personal attention, cultivate employees, and have a point of contact to build trust so no one feels isolated.

7. Make a Real Impact in People’s Lives:

   - People are often used to being exploited. Invest in the relationship, encourage them to believe in a hopeful future, and facilitate their personal growth so they can grow with the organization.

8. Share the Results of the Impact You’re Making – Not Just Financially, but in the Market:

   - To increase engagement, make clear what the effect of daily work is. Many employees operate on autopilot because they don’t understand the impact of their efforts. Show them the difference they’re making in the marketplace.

9. Duplicate Yourself as a Leader:

   - Everyone has strengths in which they excel. By duplicating yourself as a leader, you can focus on communicating the vision, while qualified leaders help implement it. The clearer your vision is, the larger the audience you’ll attract, because people want to be part of something bigger than themselves.

10. Invest in Education to Fully Utilize Talents:

    - Excellence attracts quality. The better your team is, the better they perform their tasks, leading to higher customer satisfaction. A culture of learning keeps you sharp, makes you more capable, and gives you an edge over the competition.

Everything we do is for people and by people. The key to achieving this is simply to be human.

This saved me thousands in seminar fees by simply paying attention and asking questions.

Building a human-centered organization isn’t magic—it’s about focusing on people
